GLOBAL WARMING AND CLIMATE IN BUGIRI DISTRICT: A CASE STUDY OF BUGIRI MUNICIPALITY COUNCIL WESTERN DIVISION (Issue 6)

An investigation article, thesis, review, conference continuing, or other in-depth
work is summarized in an abstract. The primary goal of this investigation—a case
study of Bugiri Municipality Council Western Division—was to ascertain whether there
was a connection between climate change and weather in the Bugiri District. The
study's methodology employed a descriptive survey research method to assist in
collecting data in areas where little information and expertise would be known. It
also used straightforward random and purposeful sampling methods to obtain a
sample size of forty-four participants with in the Bugiri District. Males made up 56.8%
of the study sample while females made up 43.2%. Respondent information was
gathered through the use of surveys and interviewing protocols. Based on a sample
size of 44, the correlation analysis results of the association between climate change
and global warming are shown in the table. Climate change and warming
temperatures have a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.469**. With a significance
level of p 0.01, this suggests a positive, significant correlation between the two
variables. According to this correlation coefficient, there is a statistically significant
association between climate change and warming temperatures. The climate has a
propensity to alter in reaction to rising global warming. To prove a causal
relationship between the two variables, additional research would be required. It's
crucial to remember that correlation does not always imply causation. It was
therefore recommended that opinion leaders should continue with dialogue on global
warming solutions which might be a challenging but it is not entirely impossible.
Global warming can be stopped when combined efforts are put in. For that,
individuals and governments, both have to take steps towards achieving it.
