The study examined the relationship between health and education programmes and community socio-economic
empowerment in Kazo Parish, Kazo Archdeaconry, Namirembe Diocese, Church of Uganda. The study used a cross
sectional research design and a sample size of 277 respondents. Respondents were selected using stratified random
sampling and purposive sampling techniques. Questionnaires and interview guide were used in collecting data and
quantitative data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the help of SPSS version 22. The results
demonstrated a strong positive correlation between investment in community health and education programs and levels of
socio-economic empowerment within a community. Therefore, improving access to healthcare and education appears to
be closely linked to strengthening the economic power and independence of community members. The study
recommended that churches should continue and expand primary healthcare services provided by churches such as
immunization programs, prenatal care, and disease prevention workshops. There is need to increase pastoral advocacy and
discussion of important public health topics through letters and sermons.
