Dangers Of Investigating Journalism. A Case Study Of Bukedde Tv (issue 2)

The study aimed at dangers of investigating journalism with case study of Bukedde tv and it was guided by the
following objectives; To determine the relationship between security of journalists and Sensitivity, to assess the
relationship between security of journalists and protection available and to determine the relationship between
security of journalists and locality's stance on press freedom. The correlation design was used to determine the
dangers of investigating journalism at Bukedde Tv. The targeted population is to be 85 workers at Bukedde Tv. The
study population was comprised of members; senior accountant, accounts assistants, station managers,
administrative staff, contract committee, audit staff, members of public accounts committee, principal revenue
officer, principal treasurer, Bukedde Tv procurement committee. The collected data was coded, edited and classified
under different themes and sub-themes and then analyzed using statistical package for social scientist (SPSS)
programme was used. The standard error (0.152) provided information about the precision of the regression
coefficient. Beta (0.561) was the standardized regression coefficient, which tells us the effect of Sensitivity in
standard deviation units, t (6.021) tests whether the regression coefficient is significantly different from 0. Training
programs and capacity building workshops for journalists should specifically focus on investigative reporting
techniques and security best practices. Such training is essential to empower journalists to safely fulfill the watchdog
role while mitigating risks from probing sensitive cases.
