Effect Of Cloud Computing Adoption On Organizational Performance Of Renu, Uganda

SMEs require CC implementation to establish higher competence and efficiency levels. Traditional means of CC
usage have weaknesses that enterprises have to deal with, such as high licensing and software package installation
costs; this situation holds true for SMEs. The researcher therefore aims to study the impact of CC adoption and how
this impacts on the performance of the SMEs in Uganda, Taking RENU as a case study. A cross-sectional survey was
conducted to gather data from a sample of SMEs, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods. The research
design facilitated the exploration of various factors influencing cloud computing adoption, including perceived
usefulness, top management support, organizational readiness, security concerns, competitive pressure, and supplier
computing support. Data were collected through structured questionnaires administered electronically, allowing for
the examination of relationships between variables. Descriptive statistics, stem-and-leaf plots, and one-sample t-tests
were employed to analyze the data and draw meaningful insights. The results do not fully support this hypothesis.
While some SMEs acknowledged certain disadvantages of cloud computing, such as security concerns and potential
risks, these acknowledgments did not significantly influence their overall perception of the quality of cloud computing
services. Other factors, such as the perceived benefits and actual user experience, had a more substantial impact on
perceived quality. The study concludes that cloud computing adoption is associated with improved organizational
performance, driven by factors such as perceived usefulness, top management support, and organizational readiness.
Also, the findings emphasize the need for organizations to adopt a holistic approach that considers technological,
organizational, and environmental factors to successfully implement cloud-based systems and achieve improved
performance outcomes. The study recommended that collaboration with trusted service providers and suppliers can
enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of cloud adoption efforts. Continuous training and education programs should
be provided to employees to enhance their skills and capabilities in utilizing cloud-based technologies effectively
