GRAPHICS ILLUSTRATIONS SHOWING CHILD PREPAREDNESS AMONG PREGNANT WOMEN IN BBAALE, BBAALE PARISH SUB COUNTY KAYUNGA DISTRICT. (Issue 8)

The study aimed at graphics illustrations showing child preparedness among pregnant
women in Bbaale, Bbaale parish sub county Kayunga district and it was guided by the
following objectives; to assess the Knowledge of Birth preparedness among pregnant
women and design a graphics illustration to sensitize the people in Bbaale parish,
Bbaale sub county Kayunga district, to identify the factors associated with birth
preparedness among pregnant women attending antenatal care in Bbaale parish,
Bbaale sub county, Kayunga district and to determine the strategies to improve
attitude of pregnant women attending antenatal care towards birth preparedness in
Bbaale parish, Bbaale sub county Kayunga district. Quantitative data was analyzed
through use of correlations and regression analysis to measure the relationship and
Qualitative data was analyzed through use of thematic and content analysis using
SPSS 23.0
The study findings on the strategies to improve attitude of pregnant women
attending antenatal care towards birth preparedness in Bbaale parish, Bbaale sub
county Kayunga district revealed that 50(62.5%) were focused on ANC,5(6.25%) was
ready for any complications,17(21.25%) involved their men and8(10%) made their men
aware and liked making regular visits as per the given schedule. The government
should empower women through women’s group, open SACCOS for them and provide
startup capital for them other than only relying on men’s financial support. This will
improve their standard of living and their standard of living Maternal health programs should be emphasized on all forms of media to increase mother’s access to
information about child birth preparedness.
