Relationship Between The Instructional Supervision And Teaching Methodology Used By Teachers In Secondary Schools In Kisoro District, Uganda

The study determined the relationship between the instructional supervision and teaching methodology used by
teachers. The researcher used questionnaire and interview schedule as major instruments of data collection. The
researcher used a descriptive survey method as the research design whereby both qualitative and quantitative
research methods were appropriate. Qualitative method was used to collect, present and interpret and analyze
descriptive data while quantitative method was used to analyze numerical data which was reported inform of table,
figures, frequencies and percentages. A total of one hundred and two (102) classroom teachers and seventeen (17)
supervisors responded and returned the questionnaires which were duly analysed. The study concluded that,
instructional supervision of teacher’s planning and preparation for teaching had an influence on the teaching
methodology. Based on the findings, it was recommended that teachers should improve on their teaching
methodology.
