The implication of financial motivation on employee performance in Mbarara City North Division-Mbarara City
This study was about staff motivation and influence on employee performance in Mbarara city north division and the
researcher aimed at achieving three selected objectives. The specific objectives include; To establish the implication
of financial motivation on employee performance in Mbarara city north division, to find out how non-financial
motivation influences employee performance, to find out how intrinsic rewards can influence employee performance
in Mbarara city north division. The study employed a case study design. The study population was comprised of top
division officials as key informants who included; City clerk, Assistant town clerks, Human resource officer, Town
agents and Heads of Departments. Others staff were; lower staff, and political leaders totaling to one hundred (100)
respondents. Data was collected using questionnaires and interview guide, and were quantitatively and qualitatively
analyzed. The results of the objectives were indicated and findings were revealed using the Model Summary table. It
helped to reveal if job rotation helped division employees gaining more experience at work; if promotion of employees
led to higher status of individuals and good performance at work place; intrinsic rewards facilitated employees on
their content and work covered; intrinsic rewards were facilitated employees, and intrinsic rewards were motivated
employees to be punctual and attend regularly.
