The study adopted both quantitative and qualitative research approaches the quantitative approach were to be adopted because the proposed study drew statistical inferences. This qualitative approach supplemented the quantitative approach by proving detailed information inform of statements from interviews for in depth analysis. The larger percentage (53%) of the participants in the research said that beliefs about fertility do not contribute to pregnancy amongst schoolgirls. This result indicated that there was a large number of adolescents who placed a higher value on education and future economic success, than to prove their fertility at a young age. These respondents were of the view that only older teenage girls, and not schoolgirls, may feel the need to prove that they are able to have children before marriage. Parents should counsel their daughters once they reach adolescent stage and equip them with necessary materials such as sanitary towels, books and little pocket money for lunch to protect them from the lures of businessmen and also teaching them on how to overcome teenage pregnancies.
