Abstract
The study aimed at government regulations and media performance in uganda and it was guided by the following objectives; To examine the effectiveness of media regulations making process in Uganda, to examine the level of awareness of government media regulations in Uganda and to establish the contribution of media in regulations making process. The sample size comprised of 150 respondents (local peopleconsidering a number of issues affecting the area. The researcher used a nonprobability sampling procedure where purposive and quota sampling techniques were employed. This was because, in purposive/judgmental sampling, the researcher purposively picked respondents who, in his opinion, were thought to be relevant to the research topic. The examination's findings, which are shown in the table above, show that the regression model successfully forecasts the variable that is the dependent variable. The regression model's statistical significance was denoted by F=114.231 and P=0.000, both less than 0.05. The disparity between the regression's initial mean square value of 8.607 and the remainder's mean square value of 0.075 served as more evidence for this. This demonstrated the relationship between media performance and government regulations. This was mainly because the media coverage on government regulations was very low and fear of victimization from the government. Government should provide incentives to those media owners who are making a contribution to the regulations making process.
