The Effects of Forced Migrations on Regional Security in Uganda. A case of West Nile Sub-region.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to discover the prevalence of forced migration on regional security in West Nile. The study was based on the results from 2018-2020 respondents who presented to the researcher accurate data out of the sample size of 250 respondents. The objective of the study was to determine the effect of forced migrations on regional security in West Nile. Data was collected from the officials from the office of the prime minister, local people in West Nile, refugees, police men and from the ministry of internal affairs. The results of the study in this report indicate that over 79% of the respondents asserted that forced migration is responsible for the insecurity in the region however the other percentage of the respondents say that force migration also came with positive benefits in the region. This research report also indicates that majority of the refugees with a percentage of 60 informed the researcher that amongst them there are criminals that have tarnished the name of refugee in West Nile. And finally, this research results also show that there are many un-withstandable factors that have forced them to leave their areas to other places.
